Addition or Subtraction?

How are you able to protect yourself and your family? Let's face it, you cannot really get away from this stuff!  It is in everything.  We could sit around in fetal position and worry every minute of the day.  That does nothing for us, right?
 
Keep in mind that it really is impossible to avoid ALL sulfites. They are found naturally in some foods:  Dried fruits and veggies, beer, shrimp, hard cider, beet sugar, gelatins, salmon, dried cod, soy and eggs.  However, you will want to avoid the foods that have added sulfites. Often times, the white wines will have an additional amount of added sulfites. You want to pay attention to that when you can.
 
The toxic effect of these sulfites really do depend on many different factors.  The most important one is the strength of your natural detoxification system as well as the amount of anti-oxidants that you have in your body.  What you want to consider is the subclinical effect that these toxins have on your system.
 
You see, in every one of us, there is a tipping point where a sublclinical functional disarray tips over into disease.  We just don't magically tip over from normal blood sugar to diabetes OR no abnormal cells to full-blown cancer. This is all a continuum. There is further evidence that these toxins do generate free radicals and it is the damage of the free radicals to our bodies over time that cause the disease.
 
It is very impractical for me to suggest that you avoid all of these chemicals.  Frankly, I don't think you could live on this globe and get away from all of it. So, arm yourself as best as you can. Get your daily supply of appropriate minerals and vitamins, take your anti-oxidants (Vitamin C and E, CoEQ10 to name a few), drink plenty of water, and rest!
 
The question is:  Do you want to add (take supplements outside of your food) or subtract (shorten both the quality and quantity of your life).  I promise you, that if you treat your body well, you will lengthen both the quality and the quantity of your life.  It is all about the numbers!

Thanks to your info-my house is high fructose corn syrup free!! I was shocked at the foods i thought were "healthy" and are not. Sunny D, which my kids dranks a lot is really nothing but sugar. I have started doing most of my shopping at Whole Foods, while it is a little more expensive, I started thinking about the real "cost" of what I was feeding my family. I am on a real journey of educating myself and my kids about what we put in our bodies. Education really is the beginning- at least for me. I can't thank you enough for what you are doing to help us.

Research proves that we do not have all of the essential minerals and vitamins in our food.
